David Stuart-Smith retires after 25 years

One of the most inspirational figures in local property, David Stuart-Smith has retired as managing partner after over 25 years with Andrew Grant.

He has been succeeded by Kristian Stott, who started out with the company as a weekend viewing agent and since then has himself become a respected figure in the industry.

In an often much-maligned industry David was greatly admired by clients, staff and industry professionals as a traditional agent with a forward-thinking approach. Under his leadership and despite increasing online competition the Andrew Grant brand expanded to fifteen offices across the area including presence in London, with David’s core values of honesty, professionalism and a straightforward approach at the heart of each.

Educated at the King’s School, Worcester, David worked in property for over 50 years. In his free time he remains a keen runner, competing in the inaugural Snowdonia Marathon in 1982 and most recently in the London Marathon at the age of 70. He and his wife plan to enjoy his retirement travelling around in their motorhome.

Sector leader and former Reapit Director Simon Whale, commented, “Anyone who had the privilege of dealing with David will know instantly that the word ‘legend’ is what defined him. It is to Andrew Grant’s great fortune - or rather their ability to nurture and attract talent that they have got such a talented heir to the throne in Kristian Stott.

“Kristian is one of the rarest of creatures; somebody within the industry that understands both the technical challenges of the wider market today and the business itself.”

Commenting on his new role and the challenge ahead Kristian added;

“Throughout its long history the Andrew Grant brand has delivered the highest levels of customer excellence and professionalism with a warm and traditional approach, establishing us as the most trusted Estate Agents, Valuers and Auctioneers in all our regions of operation.

“It’s vital now that we continue to be a leader in the industry and remain the best; delivering the highest standards of customer service through our suite of client focused online tools using our established and highly effective marketing reach - all supported by our incredible team.

“These are the most disruptive, exciting and innovative times in the history of our industry and there has never been a better time to work in property. I am honoured to deliver against the future vision of a brand with such heritage and repute.”
