Andrew Grant, in his role as Deputy Lieutenant represented Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Holcroft who represents The Queen in this County, was honoured to present a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

The winner, against formidable competition from thousands of competing companies around the country, was the Worcestershire based company Metrasens. They are the world’s leading provider of advanced magnetic detection technologies. The company has been recognized for its work in international trade, which represents 95% of total revenues and has grown by a total of 400% over the last six years.

From small beginnings Metrasens has become a leading provider of advanced magnetic technologies having developed innovative products to address deficiencies in traditional safety screening methods. They are continuously developing applied technology to make the world safer and more secure.

The products of Metrasens have been successful in carrying out a mission primarily in contraband detection for the world’s prisons and projectile threat detection for patient and staff safety in MRI radiology suites for the world’s healthcare centres and hospitals.

Metrasens operates its technology and manufacturing centre in the UK along with a North American sales and customer service hub in Chicago and global network distribution partnerships.
