Stourbridge Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights will be officially switched on in Stourbridge later this month with a day of seasonal entertainment which it is hoped will get families into the festive spirit.

Stourbridge will be looking festive later this month when the town’s Christmas lights are officially switched on.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler, will be switching on the town’s light at 5.00pm on Saturday 25th November and he also has the hard task of judging the best-dressed shop competition.

To get families into the Christmas spirit a day of seasonal fun is planned.  There will be funfair rides in Market Street and live entertainment on two stages in Crown Square and Fountain Square.  Chicago’s are laying on a line-up of local bands too.

Snow Princesses will be visiting the town to greet young shoppers and Father Christmas will be in his grotto in the Ryemarket from 11am to 4pm.

It promises to be a great day and it’s hoped that lots of people will turn out and enjoy the seasonal spirit.
