Signs of the times

Have you ever wondered what happens to all the estate agency ‘For Sale’ and ‘To Let’ boards which populate our streets?

They play a vital part in signposting properties for viewers, but as most are made of a proportion of corrugated plastic it’s our responsibility to see that they don’t end up contributing to the millions of tonnes of unrecycled waste accumulated in the UK each year.

We keep our boards simple and free of detail so they can be used many times over. The company we choose to supply and manage our boards works with EA Recycling to ensure that all Andrew Grant boards are recycled where possible, and that any non-recyclable items are correctly disposed of.

Help us by letting us know if you see any of our signs which have ‘lost their way’, and by making sure that when you move into your new property you allow us to collect the board (even though we know that sometimes in the enthusiasm of moving in, removing the board yourself can feel symbolic!)

Take a look at this one for example:

Mrs Field in Weston-super-Mare contacted us last month - she got in touch to tell us that one of our boards had washed up on the beach near her! This board was a victim of flooding in 2018 and we never knew where it had gone. She did help us to recycle it although we did think it would make a fantastic flag for a sandcastle.

Our job is to help you find your happy environment – let’s keep it that way for all of us!
