This Thursday, 27th September, the riverside town of Bewdley in Worcestershire will welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester.

His Royal Highness will officially unveil of the statue to celebrate former Prime Minister, Stanley Baldwin.

Working with Bewdley Civic Society, Andrew Grant, wife Beatrice, who is President of the Society and the great granddaughter of Stanley Baldwin, and The Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, Baldwin’s Grandson, have raised funds to erect the statue, gaining donations from many individuals and institutions to make it possible to commission the magnificent bronze.

The full-scale bronze statue from acclaimed sculptor, Martin Jennings, will be unveiled by The Duke of Gloucester at around 11 a.m. outside The Guildhall. Following, there will be a talk in St George’s Hall by Lord Lexden as well as an address from Bea Grant and The Duke of Gloucester.

Earlier this year Andrew Grant sold at auction the grand Ribbesford House, which was once home to Stanley Baldwin. This historic property, needing complete renovation set within 8.15 acres was also visited by General Charles de Gaulle several times and achieved £810,000.
