This calculator helps you work out how much mortgage you might be able to borrow based on your income. Sometimes taking out a joint mortgage can increase the amount you can borrow, especially if you both have well-paid jobs. Our calculator will provide an approximation of how much you're likely to be able to borrow but please remember this amount will vary from lender to lender and will also depend on things like your monthly credit commitments. Most importantly you need to be comfortable with the payments, not just now but also in the long term.
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a tax on properties bought in England and Northern Ireland. You'll need to pay it when you buy a residential property that costs more than £125,000. Use our calculator to work out how much Stamp Duty you'll need to pay on your new home. You can also use it to work out how much you'll pay on an additional property that costs more than £40,000, like a buy to let or second home, which attracts an extra 3% charge.
I started life in estate agency many years ago, and can safely say it's thoroughly enjoyable (most of the time!). Along the way I have met some of the most incredible people and have been lucky enough to visit some amazing houses. Having lived in Worcestershire for over 30 years I understand why people enjoy it and love living here. Since having my daughter I've begun to appreciate all the other things the county has to offer young families and just how important picking the right school is. Something that when looking for your next home is high on any parent's agenda. In my spare time, I enjoy nothing more than spending time with my daughter, taking her riding, walking our dogs and generally spending as much time as possible outside. Socialising is also really important to me and love cooking new dishes to try with friends. Quizzes are another favourite of mine - but I cant guarantee I'm any good so find it easier creating them for others to enjoy.
